This is a service of our firm for foreign visitors and residents of our capital. It is a painstaking fear to think to be involved in a car crash in a foreign country. You sure find a number of friendly helpers but you never know, if they give you the correct advice what to do:

This is the web-site of a free car assessors' (adjustors') group of about 20 specialists. "Free" means, that we are not part of a car insurance company. In fact we have so far not worked in favorite of an insurance company but always for the VICTIMS of car accidents. Our profession has had a completely different development than in other European countries, since traffic law is also completely different. The founder of our group, Wolfgang Werner Ihle, is the one who will give you all necessary information personally, since he is also the author of a book concerning this field of knowledge - and he trains other adjustors and lawyers in this field.

In Germany each person thinking to be an accident's non-guilty victim and believing, that the opposite party may have caused the accident has the right to get the damage assessed (adjusted) by his own car expert - on the expense of the opposite insurance company. This job may as well be done by the opposite insurance company itself. You just call them, and they send an insurance-adjustor. But German courts have found out strong evidence that they sometimes cheat you for their own profit. So German courts have declared that it will be the right of any car damage victim to call his own - self chosen - car assessor to have his damage fixed on paper, as long a the probable damage amounts to more than about 750 Eur. If it is a small damage it would be good enough to have a cheap costs' calculation of a garage.

Following this offer of the court we stand by and wait for your call. We give you free advice on the phone and we drive to your damaged car. We analyse name and whereabouts of the opposite insurance company. We discuss the question with you, whose fault it was that the cars collided. We give you a written and signed promise in German or English language that we would charge our bill just and only to the opposite insurance company and not to you. Some hours or one or two days later we will have worked out a written expertise with photographs and will have mailed it to the opposite insurance company. During the past 19 years the German Insurance Companies have not ever refused our decision. If it would have been a repairable damage they would have sent a telefaxed message to the garage and give them a written permit and a Pay promise for the repair according to our expertise. But if it is a damage larger than the value of the car -(which I decide)- they would pay the amount of money to you necessary to buy another car of comperabel age and value. It is also your right to rent a car, but we give you the advice to keep renting times low.
